The lab finally got back to the vet, and the vet got back to us!

Ginger has a hyper-thyroid issue. We're starting her on a special food tomorrow and her life should be back to its usual run fairly soon.

The vet still hasn't got back to us about what to do for Ginger, so she's been stuck in the laundry room for several days, except when I take her out to snuggle her.

The snuggling is all well and good, but she doesn't really appreciate it. Forget snuggling! She wants to run and play and patrol and climb the walls!

The vet says Ginger's problems are probably kidneys, possibly a bladder infection, or maybe diabetes. Could be cancer, but after he palpated her he didn't mention that possibility again, so I guess he thinks it's unlikely. The bloodwork will come in tomorrow and he'll call us when he knows more ( Read more... )

It looks like the Ginger kitty's sick.

We're taking her to the vet in the morning to see what they say.

She's fourteen. It's been a year since her sister, Katrina, died.

My younger brother and his girlfriend have introduced the Ginger Beast to Cat T.V.

Apparently she didn't move for at least fifteen minutes. The crows on the screen were just too awesome.

Katrina died yesterday. We had to ask the vet to put her to sleep because the tumor in her central body cavity was pressing on her stomach so hard that even though she kept trying really hard, she couldn't keep anything but water down long enough to do her any good ( Read more... )
